What's Driving Us? (WDU)
Only people who the police have offered a What’s Driving Us? (WDU) can complete this course.
If the police have offered you a place, you can book online.
The course costs £90 and lasts for 3 hours.

Online and classroom start times
- 9am – 12 noon
- 1pm – 4pm
We recommend arriving in the classroom or joining Zoom 15 minutes before the course start time, to allow for registration. Late attendees will be refused entry.
Course overview
This course aims to create safer communities by increasing the likelihood that clients drive safely and considerately, in line with the Highway Code.
Its objectives are to increase your understanding of:
- what constitutes safe and considerate driving, and the ways in which the Highway Code support this.
- the causes and negative consequences – for you and for others – of risky and inconsiderate driving.
- your own personal susceptibility to these consequences.
- the extent to which other road users drive in accordance with the Highway Code.
- the importance of concentration, observation, anticipation and allowing adequate space and time.
- your own driving as unsafe or inconsiderate and encourage you to create an action plan to address personally relevant issues.
We will not allow you to join a course if you:
- are late.
- are unable to show the trainer your valid photocard driving licence (or paper licence supported by an acceptable photographic ID).
- bring an interpreter (if required) not named on your booking (or they do not have an acceptable photographic ID).
