Independent Travel Training (ITT) gives young people the confidence to travel on foot or by public transport.
Supporting people to become independent travellers - offering:
- one to one training support
- working with students to travel independently on public transport
- promoting independence
- enabling a broader and more inclusive lifestyle
- improving access to education, work placements, jobs and leisure activities
ITT is a free service for children and young people with SEND and are eligible to transport provided by Lincolnshire County Council.
The travel training programme provides students with a wide range of support including:
- coping with traffic and road safety
- confidence in using safe walking routes and bus services
- journey planning
- how to use timetables and visual aids
- where to get help
- personal safety
- money skills
