A funeral service is taking place at Lincoln Cathedral on Tuesday 17 August that could have a very large attendance; drivers in the city should expect delays.
The funeral procession is expected to leave Saxilby at around 8.30am, and travel to Lincoln Cathedral.
The procession will then make the reverse journey back to Saxilby from around 12noon.
There are likely to be delays across the city – particularly uphill around the cathedral, in the north and on the A46 Lincoln Bypass – from 8am to 3pm.
On the day, Pottergate will be closed from 7:30am to 4:30pm, or as soon as any traffic on the roads has eased. Local diversions will be in place, and resident access will be maintained throughout the closure.
If you are travelling into or around Lincoln on that day, please allow extra time for your journey, or use alternative routes.
