Reconstruction works to the A1031 Tetney will now resume - 07/12/2020

"I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone for bearing with us and wish the person who tested positive a speedy recovery."

The programme of works will start on Monday 28 September and are expected to last for six weeks, subject to suitable weather.

The works will be carried out in two phases:

Phase 1

A full 24/7 road closure will be in place from south of Holme Farm to just past the School Lane junction for two weeks, starting on Monday 28 September.*

Please note that resident access will be maintained during this phase of work. However, residents will need to approach their homes from the side of the bridge they are located on due to the bridge being closed. No access will be available for other vehicles.

A daytime road closure (7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday) will be in place between the School Lane junction and north of Tetney Village Hall.*

Access for residents, school buses, emergency services and others will be available during the project's second phase.

*The diversion route for both phases will be via A1031 / B1201 / A16 / A1098 / A1031, and vice versa.

Karen Cassar, Assistant Director - Highways, said: "As part of these works, we'll be improving a stretch of the A1031 near Tetney that is nearing the end of its serviceable life.

"This includes fully reconstructing the road and taking the opportunity to waterproof the bridge on this stretch of road.

"While on site, the team will be doing everything they can to minimise disruption. This includes maintaining access for residents and school buses during the second phase of the works."
