A series of weekend road closures at Lincoln Road in Branston and Greetwell Road will take place into mid-October.

In addition, night-time temporary traffic signals will be in place at Wragby Road Roundabout for three weeks starting in mid-September.

Karen Cassar, Assistant Director - Highways, said: "We're nearly finished with all our works at the new Lincoln Road and Greetwell Road roundabouts.

"Over the course of these essential weekend closures, the team will be focusing their efforts on laying the final layer of surfacing; painting road markings; installing signage, safety barriers, street lighting, topsoil and landscaping; and building footways.

"This is all in addition to our team of site inspectors checking all aspects of both roundabouts to ensure everything is to the quality we expect.

"During this time, we'll be carrying out some final works to Wragby Road roundabout as part of the scheme, but under temporary traffic signals.

"We'll be doing our very best to complete all of these works as efficiently as possible, with an aim to minimise the amount of time the road closures and traffic signals are in place."

The 7.5km Lincoln Eastern Bypass project is part-funded by a £50m Central Government capital grant and will improve Lincoln’s infrastructure, encourage growth, minimise traffic congestion and enhance the inter-city environment.
