Complete rebuild will mean big improvement.
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for Highways said: “We’re delighted to be able to get this footpath reconstruction underway in Wragby.
“The old path is past the end of its life and we are investing a lot into tearing up the old path and then rebuilding and replacing it with a new one. The improvement for those in the area will be immediately noticeable and will mean many years of use for residents.”
Location of works
The works will be carried out at Victoria Street, Wragby between the A158 Lincoln Road and town sign 450m north.
Dates and times
The works will begin on Thursday 2 January and have a scheduled end date of Wednesday 5 February. Work times onsite will be from 07.30 to 17.30 Monday to Friday, subject to suitable weather.
Traffic management
A road closure is required for the duration of the works with a diversion route in place throughout.
Diversion route
The signed diversion route will be: B1202 Wragby Road / B1399 Lincoln Road / A158 Lincoln Road and vice versa.
Cllr Davies added: “These works will cost around £135,000 to deliver and involve a crew carrying out a lot of work.
“Because of the nature of the work, a diversion route using like-for-like roads will have to be in place. This is for the safety of road users, pedestrians and the work crew itself.
“It’s worth noting that, at time, on-street parking will have to be suspended while the team works from section-to-section.
“This level of local improvement isn’t possible to carry out without some disruption but we will do everything we can to complete the works as quickly as possible, and to keep disruption to a minimum.
“I would like to thank everyone effected for their patience and understanding whilst we are delivering this footpath improvement for Wragby.”
