The start date for daytime road closures has been moved forward to this week.

The final night-time closure will be during the evening of Tuesday 19 November, with the first daytime road closure being on Thursday 21 November.

The daytime road closures will be in place for up to three weeks, 8:30am to 4:30pm on weekdays only (subject to weather) at the following locations as needed:

  • A1104, just west of Willows Caravan Park to just east of the A1031
    • A1104 and the A1031 / Mile Road junction – diversion route via A1104 / A52 / A1111 / A1104, and vice versa.
  • A1104 junction with Mile Lane and the A1031 will also be closed for three evenings towards the end of the project
    • A1031 Theddlethorpe Road – diversion route via Kent Avenue / Meers Bank / Quebec Road / High Street
    • Mile Lane –  diversion route via Main Street / A52, and vice versa

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “The early switch to daytime closures is to ensure suitably warm temperatures for laying the new road surfacing compared to doing so overnight.

“With temperatures dropping, making this change now will help ensure the project stays on track for completion mid-December.”

Changes to bus journeys during the daytime closures

As part of the daytime closures on the A1104, certain villages (including Legbourne, South Reston, North Reston, Withern and Maltby le Marsh) will not be served by the PC Coaches service 50. Those affected are asked to book onto the Callconnect bus service.

Information on how to book onto Callconnect can be found by calling 0345 234 3344. Lines are open 8:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.

Schools buses travelling through the area will run as normal during the daytime A1104 closures.

This project is being funded by a portion of the £20 million capital funding allocated to the county council as part of the Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority devolution deal.
