A special event helped learners from InspireU to explore their future learning and career options while celebrating the success of some exceptional students.
InspireU provides bespoke educational study programmes for young people aged 16-24 with varied needs and abilities, preparing them for work and future independence. On Tuesday 29 October, learners from all InspireU sites were invited to join a range of local employers, further education and training providers for a careers fayre, which was also open to pupils from local special schools.
At the end of the careers fayre there was an awards ceremony to recognise learners’ achievements in work experience and volunteering roles. This event was sponsored by the Lincoln City Football Foundation and was attended by learners and their families.
Cllr Mrs Patricia Bradwell OBE, executive member for children’s services, said: “We’d like to congratulate all the award winners on their success. They all work very hard and should be very proud of all they’ve achieved.
“I’m sure the careers fayre has given the learners ideas about what they’d like to do next. Our thanks go to all the stall holders for their time and the employers for continuing to support our important work experience programme. We’d also like to thank Lincoln City Football Foundation for sponsoring the event.”
