Works to improve the area’s road surfacing, drainage, footways and kerbs started today.
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: “Our works are on Dysart Road, which include completely rebuilding the carriageway and replacing some of the footways, drainage and kerbs, are now underway.
“Starting from today, our team will be working hard until this winter to give this heavily-used stretch of carriageway some much-needed TLC that will help extend its serviceable life.
“As with any major roadworks we undertake, some disruption is inevitable. But we’ll be doing everything we can to keep this to a minimum, including not working weekends and maintaining access for residents as often as possible during the project.
“In the meantime, we encourage everyone to leave extra time for their journeys and to treat our workforce with respect.
Below is an overview the traffic management planned for throughout the project:
- Localised traffic management, including temporary traffic signals, during w/c 29th July while trial holes are carried out
- 24/7 westbound closure on Dysart Road for the duration of the works starting w/c 5th August
- Full night-time road closures from 7pm to 6am towards the end of the project (specific dates and details will be shared closer to the time)
- Please note that some parking bays will be suspended, including outside veterinarian’s office
