Improvements to deal with surface water flow plus new kerbing is on the way.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for Highways said: “It’s not headline-grabbing works but this scheme will improve surface water flow, improve kerbing and re-pipe existing drains. That will make a real difference to those who use this route.
“The schedule of work means that we can get a lot of work across the different types of improvement done in one hit, instead of having to return at different times in the future to do each separately.”
Location of works
The works will be carried out at Butts Lane/ Main Street Haddington between Pond Cottage, Butts Lane and Haddington & Wainwright Cottage, Main Street.
Dates and times
The works will begin on Monday, July 8 and have a scheduled end date of Friday, July 19th, subject to suitable weather. Work hours on site will run from 07.30 to 17.30, Monday to Friday.
Traffic management
A road closure is required for the duration of the works.
Diversion route
The signed diversion route using like-for-like roads will be; Haddington Lane, Bassingham Road, Lincoln Road, Bassingham Road, Bridge Road, South Hykeham Road and vice versa
Karen Cassar added: “This set of improvements will cost around £40,000 to implement and will mean a reduction of water on the road during downpours.
“The scheme is also designed to reduce the risk of flooding to gardens in the immediate area.
“As always, I would like to thank everyone effected by this scheme for their patience and understanding while we complete the programme as quickly as possible.”
