Resurfacing works at Bunkers Hill near Frithville

The diversion route for the works

Road reconstruction happening on Westville Road.

Assistant director for Highways, Karen Cassar said: “This is a considerable improvement for the area that will cost around £550,000 to implement and, when in place, will mean a much better surface for road users.

“The work will not only give a better ride to those who use the route, it will also extend the life of the road by many years.”

Locations of works

The works will be carried out at Westville Road, Bunkers Hill.

Dates and times

The works will begin on Friday, July 5 and have a planned end date of Wednesday, July 31, subject to suitable weather. Working hours for the crew will be Monday to Friday, 07.30 to 17.00.

Traffic management

A road closure is required for the duration of the works for the safety of the crew and road users.

Diversion route

The signed diversion route will be; C835 Bunkers Hill, Leagate Road, B1184, Leagate Road-Canister Lane, C834 Westville Road and vice versa.

Karen Cassar added: “Because of the nature of the works, a full diversion using like-for-like roads will need to be in place for the duration of the programme.

“We will do everything possible to complete the works as quickly as we can in order to reinstate the road and get the improvement up and running.

“I’d like to thank everyone effected for their patience and understanding while we carry out this programme of work at Bunkers Hill.”
