Construction of a new pedestrian crossing on London Road in Wyberton will start in early July.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “When we finish in early August, this new crossing will have six new traffic signal heads, along with new tactile paving and road surfacing.

“As with any project of this sort, there will be some minor disruption during the works – but we’ll be doing our absolute best to keep this to a minimum.”

Dates and timeframes

Monday 1 July for up to five weeks.

Location of works

B1397 London Road, between Saundergate Lane and Parthian Avenue.

Traffic management

Daytime temporary traffic signals from 9am to 5pm (these will be removed when not required).

A three-night road closure will be required to lay the final road surfacing at the end of July, with a diversion route via A16 / London Road, and vice versa.
