15-minute stoppages on the road in place next week as Environment Agency remove water pumping equipment from site.
Road users at Short Ferry might have to deal with some temporary stoppages on the road next Monday and Tuesday (April 29, 30).
That’s because the Environment Agency is removing its network of generators, pumps and other equipment from the site. To get all the kit removed safely will mean occasional, 15-minute temporary road closures across the 48-hour period.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways at Lincolnshire County Council said: “With the EA removing equipment from the area, heavy machinery will be involved.
“To make sure that road users and on-site crews are safe during times of the operation where equipment is being moved, we are putting in short, 15-minute-long closures at Short Ferry.
“The Environment Agency’s team will be on-site and will use signed boards to tell road users when the mini closures are active. The road will be reopened again as soon as possible after the individual phases of the removal work.
“The plan is that, as long as the EA’s work follows their schedule, the road will be back to fully normal usage from Tuesday evening onwards.
“Whilst the closures will be in place for a few minutes at a time, there will be some periods where traffic users may have to wait for the road to reopen.
“The mini delays are unavoidable during the operation, and I would like to thank everyone effected by these works for their patience and understanding.”
