Works to repair Lincoln’s Glory Hole are expected to be finished in early April.
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: “I’m really happy to announce that we’re expecting to finish our repairs to Lincoln’s Glory Hole on Friday 5 April – if the weather agrees with us until then.
“We were originally hoping to be finished a week earlier, but our divers encountered some delays due to low visibility from the recent storms, along with the discovery and removal of old timbers they weren’t aware of.
“They’ve since worked through these challenges, though, and are currently installing the new beams along the edge of the watercourse.
“All being well, they are expected to finish this on Friday 22 March ahead of a crew starting work to reinstate the footpath – which will take up to two weeks.”
