Minor repairs will be carried out for up to three nights starting late March.
Karen Cassar, Assistant Director – Highways, said: “We always carry out tests to ensure newly-laid road surfacing meets the high standards we expect.
“Unfortunately, the textured surfacing at the approaches to the new pedestrian crossing in North Greetwell hasn’t met our stringent quality requirements.
“As a result, the contractor will be repairing this as part of our contract with them, at their own cost.”
The works will start on Monday 25 March for two nights. As part of this, the A158 Wragby Road East in North Greetwell, from Greetwell Lane to Lodge Lane, will be closed from 10pm to 7am (please note access to the service station and restaurant will be maintained until 10pm, however no through route will be available).
The diversion route for the road closure will be via the A158 / A15 / B1188 / B1202, and vice versa.
Karen Cassar continued: “Repairing these defects now will not only save the council money and time in the future, but it will prevent further disruption at this crossing down the line.
“Because these works will inevitably cause some disruption, I want to thank everyone in advance for bearing with us.”
