Footpath works happening in Horncastle

Old path will be replaced with a new surface and new crossing points.

Update:
Please note that due to circumstances beyond control in relation to the winter maintenance elsewhere on the roads network, the footpath plans for the A153 Louth Road in Horncastle will now start on Monday, February 12 with a scheduled end date of Friday, March 15.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “This set of footpath improvements will make a real difference in the area.

“To complete these changes to the path will cost £115,000 and not only return a new path surface but add in new crossing points for pedestrians, too.”

Location of works

The works will be carried out on the A153, Louth Road, Horncastle between Linden Road and Marys Close.

Dates and times

The works will begin on Monday, February 5 with a scheduled end date of Wednesday, March13, subject to suitable weather. Works will be carried out on-site from 07.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday.

Traffic management

No diversion route will be needed with the planned works being completed using traffic signals.

Karen Cassar added: “This work programme will deliver an improved path linking to the rear access of Horncastle Primary School and we will do everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum.

“I would like to thank everyone effected by the on-site programme for their patience and understanding while we get this path completed.”
