Broadway is getting a path rebuild in the New Year.

Cllr Richard Davies, Executive member for highways, said: "We are very happy to be able to get this scheme up and running as the New Year gets underway.

“The current path on Broadway between Newport and Nettleham Road is in a poor state. We’ve worked up a programme to remove the existing slabbed path and replace it with a new surface. We will also be fitting new crossing points whilst carrying out the rebuild.

“The work we are undertaking will make the entire path much improved for those that use it.”

Location of works

The works will be carried out on Broadway in Lincoln between Newport & Nettleham Road. On Completion of Broadway, works will then move on to Broadway Close & Nettleham Close within the overall timeframe stated.

Dates and times

The works will begin on Wednesday, January 3 and are due to be completed on March 31, subject to suitable weather. The work will happen from 07.30 to 17.00, Monday to Friday. No weekend works are currently planned.

Traffic management

A 24-hour road closure will be in place for the duration of the works.

Diversion route

The diversion route will be via Newport, Longsdale Road & Nettleham Road, and vice versa.

Cllr Davies added: "We will do everything possible to keep disruption to the absolute minimum, but with works like this we will have to put in the road closure for the safety of the crew carrying out the work.

“It’s a large improvement for the area and will cost around £250,00 to complete. With that in mind, I’d like to thank everyone effected for their patience whilst we get the works in place and bring this improvement to Lincoln.”
