Resurfacing to happen in North Thoresby

The diversion route for the North Thoresby works

Two weeks in November will see a big improvement for road users.

Karen Cassar, Assistant Director for Highways said: “We are making a big improvement to North Thoresby by resurfacing Ludborough Road.

“By doing this work to give the road a new surface users will get a much better quality of ride, better braking performance and we are increasing the lifespan of the road, too.”

Location of works

The works will be carried out on Ludborough Road, North Thoresby.

Dates and times

The works will begin on Monday November 6 and have a planned end date of Monday November 20, subject to suitable weather. Work will be carried out overnight only with shifts running from 20.00 to 06.00. There are no weekend works planned.

Traffic management

A road closure and diversion route will be in place throughout the works. Outside of on-site shift hours, the road closure and diversion route will be lifted to minimise disruption to the local traffic network.

Diversion route

The diversion route will be via the A16, B1201 High Street, Station Road and vice versa. See accompanying map for details. The red route is the closure, the blue is the diversion route.

In conjunction with the Road Closure, there will also be a ‘No Parking’ restriction in force on Ludborough Road during on-site crew working times and dates.

Karen Cassar added: “Outside of on-site shift hours, the road closure and diversion route that has to be in place for the safety of the crew and road users will be lifted to minimise disruption to the local traffic network.

“We are doing this, in conjunction with carrying out these works overnight, to lessen the impact on the local traffic network. We will keep disruption to the absolute minimum possible and I would like to thank those effected for their patience and understanding whilst we bring this improvement to the area.”
