Claire Coutinho MP, Minister for Children, Families and Well-being, has congratulated Lincolnshire County Council after the authority’s children’s services were again rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
In a letter to council leader Cllr Martin Hill OBE, the minster said the result was “a significant achievement and a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of your staff at all levels in providing an exceptional quality of service to children, young people and families across Lincolnshire.”
She also highlighted the great feedback that had been received from young people who had engaged with the council’s services and expressed her gratitude for the efforts the authority had made in helping other councils to improve their own children’s services.
Cllr Hill said: “Keeping children safe and ensuring they get a good start in life is a priority for the council. We are proud of the support we provide to our young people and their families, and I’m grateful to the minister for personally acknowledging the hard work of our staff, senior managers and elected members.
“Last week, we were one of only three local authorities chosen for the government’s Families First for Children pathfinder programme, which is designed to test improvements to family help and child protection services to create a vision for the future of children’s social care in England.
“That we have been trusted with such an important role is further evidence of the high quality of our children’s services and that Lincolnshire is a place where all families receive the support they need to help their children flourish.”
