A number of works have now been completed, with more beginning this month.
What we achieved in June
- Completed excavations on western side of A16, leading up to the roundabout on the A16 northbound approach
- Installed new gully pots and began laying bituminous base layers on this section of widening
- Completed installation of street lighting ducts for new columns on east side of A16, north of the roundabout
- Continued widening for new shared footway/cycle facility from the signalised crossing at London Road roundabout to the access for Spirit of Endeavour public house at Marsh Lane
- Began works at Marsh Lane/Wyberton Low Road crossroads, including removal of old traffic signals infrastructure and commencement of civils works
What's happening in July
- Continue excavations on western side of A16 and undertake drainage works
- Install street lighting ducts on western side of A16, between Marsh Lane and London Road
- Lay new kerbs on A16 widening approach and continue laying bituminous layers
- Continue works at Marsh Lane/Wyberton Low Road crossroads, including installing new kerbing, tactile paving and traffic signal infrastructure
- Continue excavations on southeast corner of roundabout and Marsh Lane
- Begin footway widening works on Marsh Lane, east of the crossroads
