A new top surface layer will be laid in just a few hours between Owmby Cliff and Spridlington Cliff Road junctions.
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: “It’s great news that this surface improvement is scheduled for getting 26,000 square metres of resurfacing material onto another county road.
“The work is to seal the existing surface as preventative maintenance. This will reduce the deterioration of the existing road whilst improving the skid resistance of the surface itself.
“One thing to stress is that, with the changeable weather we’re facing at the moment, rainfall during the works could mean that we won’t be able to get the scheme done. If we can get the resurfacing carried out, then we will manage it in convoy which reduces the amount of time we need to be on-site overall.”
Dates and times
The works are due to begin on Wednesday, July 5 and will take between 4 – 6 hours to complete. If the weather is too wet then we defer the date to Thursday, July 6.
Traffic management
The works will be carried out in a convoy system from 09.00.
Diversion route
There is no diversion route in place as the works are Convoy Working only with speed restrictions in place. Access will be maintained throughout with delays expected.
Location of works
The works will be carried out on the A15, between Spridlington Cliff Road Jct & (N) Owmby Cliff Road Jct.
Cllr Davies added: “After the works there will be a 24–48-hour speed restriction in place and then we will sweep the road after a week to 10 days later to remove the surplus stone chips.
“On completion, road markings and road studs will be installed and the road.”
