It all adds up to a day of numeracy fun!

Wednesday 17 May is Numeracy Day and colleges and training providers across Lincolnshire will be hosting free, fun events to encourage people to freshen up their maths skills.

It’s part of the national Multiply scheme that offers free numeracy courses for people to improve their maths skills and maths confidence.

Here’s just some of the activities going on:

  • In Market Rasen, CLIP are hosting maths craft activities exploring shapes and symmetry.
  • Mablethorpe College, CLIP are making pancakes using fractions and percentages. 
  • The Bridge CLIP centre in Gainsborough will be using maths skills to make and bake delicious pies. www.cliplearning.com
  • You can relax in Gainsborough, where Riverside training are offering paint, colour and number sessions linking mildfulness and mental health awareness. www.riverside-training.co.uk
  • ‘A big plus’ at the NOMAD centre in Lincoln, will be a free lunch from the YMCA where you can learn all about the new Multiply courses to help you with everyday numeracy challenges. www.lincsymca.co.uk
  • Horncastle library and Spalding library will host a range of activities from Boston College – including a prize draw to win tickets to Maths City in Leeds. www.boston.ac.uk
  • You can enjoy marshmallows round the campfire at Skegness Eco Centre as they explore numeracy in gardening and numeracy in woodland skills during the day. ecocentreskegness.org.uk
