Lincolnshire residents will be able to see live rescue demonstrations from fire crews across the UK, this autumn and a range of sponsorship opportunities are now available for local businesses.
Firefighters and specialist rescue teams will be coming to the county this September to compete in an annual rescue competition.
The United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) challenge for 2023 will be hosted at various sites in Lincoln and the surrounding area and will see participants take part in challenges involving car extrication, water rescue, high rope rescue and more.
Businesses can also get involved by sponsoring an event – including the canine demonstration event. Sponsorship could be either through providing plant, equipment etc or direct funding, and being part of the event with a stand in the event village.

Lincolnshire’s Festival of Rescue will take place from 14 to 16 September 2023. It’s the second time the event has come to the county, following a successful event in 2012 where the water rescue challenge was introduced for the first time.
This year will see an exciting canine event and demonstration, which is bound to be hugely popular with visitors.
Mark Baxter, Chief Fire Officer for Lincolnshire, said: “Fire and rescue services really enjoy this event and I’m delighted we are hosting it again this year. It’s a great way for professionals to learn and practice their skills, knowledge and techniques that can only improve the way that we respond to our communities. More than this though, it’s a great way for the public to see firefighters in action in a safe environment, learn more about the role and to talk to us about any concerns they have.”
Information about the event for the public and participants is now available on the Festival of Rescue Home Page with registration opening on 2 May.
