A number of works have now been completed, with more beginning this month.

What we achieved in January/February/March

  • Completed piling works for new bridge
  • Completed gas slab works
  • Continued laying material in between pile caps and surcharging west low height embankment
  • Began construction of east and west load transfer platform
  • Started accepting delivery and storing large volumes of light-weight fill material

What's happening in April/May/June

  • Continue east and west load transfer platform
  • Pour concrete and hold it in place for the new bridge’s west and east abutment bases
  • Continue accepting delivery and storing large volumes of light-weight fill material
  • Continue cofferdam construction
  • Headwall installation in pond and ditches
  • Install drainage at the east embankment
  • Construct culvert at Blue Gowt Lane
  • Install material for west embankment build up
  • Cofra installing band drains either side of gas slab
  • Install root barrier

Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures

  • Closure of Two Plank Bridge, its connecting footpath and the footpath on the Wygate estate across the rail line
