Investigation works to start in Bourne

South Fen road Bourne Road closure diversion route plan

It's the first phase of an upgrade for South Fen Road.

The work is to find the exact location and depths of underground utility services at the location. This will be the first phase of a programme which will lead to a LCC resurfacing scheme in the area.

Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: “These works are the first on-site phase that are necessary on roads like this so that we can plan and design the best way to improve the road surface.

“Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to carry out these investigations without some level of disruption with works of this nature. Ultimately, these works lead to better roads for the residents and businesses in the area and I would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst the investigation is underway.”

Dates and timeframes

The work will begin on Monday March 13 and is due to end on Friday March 17. The work will be carried out from 07.30 to 17.00 each day. It is worth noting that the end date may be moved due to unforeseen circumstances.
