Shared Lives is a type of care and support available for people assessed as eligible for Adult Social Care. You can find eligibility guidance here.
Someone can benefit from Shared Lives for a short time or for longer through a range of flexible arrangements, which could include:
- support to leave hospital
- full-time as part of a family
- while you or your carer takes a break
- as you move on from children’s services
You may have to pay for Shared Lives. This will depend on the outcome of your financial assessment.
Shared Lives in Lincolnshire
In Lincolnshire PSS can match an adult with social care needs with an approved Shared Lives carer, who supports and includes the person in their family and community life. Find out more about PSS here.
Support can be in the form of a live-in arrangement where the individual shares the Shared Lives carer’s home, shared days where the carer provides daytime support, or overnight short breaks.
