We’re proud to be inclusive
Here at Lincolnshire’s Fostering Service, we encourage people from all walks of life to become foster carers. No matter your gender identity or sexual orientation, whether you’re in a couple or applying as a single person, you can transform the life of a local child and join a vibrant fostering community while receiving award-winning bespoke training to help you excel. We’re urgently looking for amazing people like you to support and transform the lives of Lincolnshire’s children.
As an Outstanding fostering service (Ofsted, 2023), we're passionate about finding, training and supporting our foster carers so that they can be there for a child at one of the most important times in their life.
Our children are diverse and as a result we welcome foster carers from all walks of life. Please be assured that you can foster if you are:
- single
- LGBTQIA+
- disabled
- employed or receiving benefits
- have your own children
- renter or homeowner
- over the age of 21 and there is no upwards age limit to this
What else do I need to know?
- you must have a spare bedroom for a child or young person to use
- if you have any criminal cautions or convictions for offences against children, or sexual offences against adults, then you will not be able to foster
- if you are applying to foster as a couple, you need to have lived together for a minimum of 18 months
- if you smoke (including e-cigarettes and vaping) you cannot foster a child under the age of 5 years

We have had an excellent experience with Laura. She is thorough, diligent and responsive. Laura sensitively listens to what we have to say, and takes our views into account when making decisions about placements. We are enormously grateful for the support she has provided and the high quality service she delivers.
