We are responsible for 3961 structures including 1511 bridges, 2183 culverts, 13 subways and 1131 highway footbridges.
We are also responsible for metal safety fences (armco), pedestrian guard rails and timber guard rails in the highway.
We are not responsible for the 1780 privately owned structures which carry County roads.
These are mostly owned by Network Rail, the Environment Agency and the internal drainage boards.
We carry out regular inspections in line with our Highways Infrastructure and Asset Management Plan.
Problems can develop between inspections so we encourage reports from the public too.
If the fault presents an immediate danger outside of our normal hours, call the police on 101.
Report a bridge, structure or safety barrier problem
