The Royal Oak Inn, affectionately known by locals as "The Splash," is a charming, historic inn dating back approximately 400 years. Nestled in the tranquil village of Little Cawthorpe, on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds.  Surrounded by its own lawned gardens and located beside a picturesque ford, the setting is perfect for romantic photo opportunities. The inn offers seven comfortable en-suite bedrooms, including a bridal suite, ensuring a relaxing stay for you and your guests.

The Royal Oak Inn is dedicated to making your wedding day flawless from beginning to end. With your personal wedding planners, Laura Grantham and Agnieszka Jonczyk, who bring years of experience organising weddings and events, every detail is carefully managed. The inn provides a beautiful conservatory for both your service and wedding breakfast, along with an open bar available throughout the day. Special dietary requirements are catered for, and white table linens, linen napkins, as well as a wedding cake table and knife, are all included.

The Royal Oak Inn also proudly offers the services of its own toastmaster, Jeff Jafari, whose extensive experience in hosting weddings ensures that your special day runs smoothly. From the morning preparations to the final moments, Jeff or Agnieszka will be there to oversee every detail, ensuring your day unfolds just as you envision.

Making your day special

It is important that your big day is one you will remember and treasure which is why we invite you to include your additions.

We are flexible when it comes to personal additions, however, there are some legal restrictions you need to be aware of. Civil ceremonies are non-religious ceremonies which include both marriages and civil partnerships. The law does not allow religious content to be included in a civil ceremony.

The day of your ceremony

What time will the registrars arrive on the day of the ceremony?

To leave enough time to carry out your preliminary interviews, our Registrars will arrive at your venue approximately 30 minutes before your ceremony start time (the time you book your ceremony for). It is extremely important that your ceremony starts on time as our Registrars may need to attend other ceremonies after yours.

You will both need to meet with the Registrars immediately prior to your ceremony for a short preliminary interview. This is a legal requirement to check over your details and make sure they are correct and run through the ceremony with you before it begins.

• You can either be seen together or, if your do not want to see each other before your ceremony, you may decide to be seen separately.
• If you would like to be seen separately, one of you will need to be ready to meet with the Registrars 30 minutes before your ceremony start time and the second person 15 minutes before.
• If you decide to be seen together, you will both need to be ready 20 minutes before your ceremony start time.
