Making your day special
It is important that your big day is one you will remember and treasure which is why we invite you to include your additions. We are flexible when it comes to personal additions, however, there are some legal restrictions you need to be aware of. Civil ceremonies are non-religious ceremonies which include both marriages and civil partnerships. The law does not allow religious content to be included in a civil ceremony.

The day of your ceremony
What time will the registrars arrive on the day of the ceremony?
To leave enough time to carry out your preliminary interviews, our Registrars will arrive at your venue approximately 30 minutes before your ceremony start time (the time you book your ceremony for). It is extremely important that your ceremony starts on time as our Registrars may need to attend other ceremonies after yours. You will both need to meet with the Registrars immediately prior to your ceremony for a short preliminary interview. This is a legal requirement to check over your details and make sure they are correct and run through the ceremony with you before it begins.
- You can either be seen together or, if your do not want to see each other before your ceremony, you may decide to be seen separately.
- If you would like to be seen separately, one of you will need to be ready to meet with the Registrars 30 minutes before your ceremony start time and the second person 15 minutes before.
- If you decide to be seen together, you will both need to be ready 20 minutes before your ceremony start time.
