An objection was lodged against the making of the Modification Order. The Order, together with the unwithdrawn objection, the available evidence and the necessary documentation was submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 12th February 2018 for a decision based on the evidence on whether the Order Should be confirmed or not confirmed. In a decision of 16th May 2019, the Secretary of State considered that there was sufficient evidence of public use over the statutory 20 year term 1966-1986 to demonstrate on the balance of probability that a public footpath has arisen over the Order Route by way of statutory dedication and confirmed the Order. As a result of the confirmation of the Order, the Order Route is now recorded as a public footpath in the Definitive Map and Statement. The route is called "Stamford Public Footpath 1163".
