Data is unavailable for potholes repaired prior to 2020 because Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) entered into a new Contract in April 2020 which allowed better recording of the number of specific jobs that were being completed. Prior to this 2020 contract, multiple potholes were completed and reported within one job, hence there is no way to provide an acceptable approximate figure. E.g., one job may have related to one, or many (possibly over a hundred) potholes.
1. LCC do not calculate the cost of repairs specifically allocated to potholes each year. There are several reasons for this; operationally it offers little value to spend time trying to assign costs at this level given the number of repairs undertaken per year but also there are a number of financial difficulties of trying to assign costs of materials and items of plant which are easily identified on a gang basis but further dividing these to specific repair type leads to inaccuracies.

Please note, the number of potholes repaired in the above table, relates specifically to pothole jobs raised. However, this does not include additional potholes that would have been repaired through other additional works that were carried out by LCC on the carriageways during each of the years. E.g. Whole carriageway resurfacing works, carriageway patching and other carriageway minor works.
