a) The absence of this information is somewhat disappointing especially noting that such
information would have been generated and stored electronically for several decades by now.
Could you please advise as to what time span the retention period actually is?
b) The date are which parking enforcement was introduced in Waldeck Street?
c) Thank you for confirming that the parking signs in Waldeck Street should be compliant with
the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. As the council implements and
enforces (or as I understand it, employs a third party contractor to do so) a financial penalty
system the correct implementation and maintenance of these signs is critical. In any
circumstance whereby a legal compliance is required a form of compliance certification should
be available to document legal compliance. Can the council therefore please provide the
correct certification or documentation demonstrating legal compliance of the parking signs on
Waldeck Street?
d) Based upon the information provided by yourselves parking signs must be placed in
accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. This means that
they must be of a certain size and design, and they must be placed in a prominent location so
that they are clearly visible to drivers. In the case of Waldeck Street the signs would appear to
be non-compliant.
Thanking you once again for your assistance to date - Decision
