Information regarding the issuing of Blue Badges within your Council.

Specifically, I kindly request the following information: 

1. Number of Blue Badges currently held (as of the date of this email) 

2. Number of Blue Badge applications received since September 1st 2022 

3. Number and percentage of successful Blue Badge applications since September 1st 2022 - of these, the number and percentage of applications which were successful under the Hidden Disability criteria 

4. Number and percentage of unsuccessful Blue Badge applications since September 1st 2022 - of these, the number and percentage of applicants appealing the decision and the number and percentage of applicants who were successful in their appeal 

Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.  

1. As of 31 May 2024 there are 52,581 current blue badge holders in Lincolnshire.

2. For the period 1 September 2022 to 31 May 2024 Lincolnshire received 37,704 blue badge applications.

3. For the period 1 September 2022 to 31 May 2024 a total of 37,869 blue badge applications were approved within this period, which equates to 93%.

of these a total of 1,747 were approved under the ‘Hidden’ disability criteria, which equates to 5%.

4. For the period 1 September 2022 to 31 May 2024 a total of 2,012 applications were unsuccessful, which equates to 5%.

  • of these for a total of 36 appeals were received, which equates to 2%.
  • of these appeals a total of 28 were successful in their appeal, which equates to 78%.
