This workshop will enable students to:

  • know how they can be kind to others each day
  • be able to recognise everyday feelings
  • understand how kindnress makes you feel better
Service Description

‘Random act of lindness’ is a workshop designed to address the ongoing issue with young people being unkind and hurtful to one another.

All primary children will encounter different emotions daily. This workshop aims to give students an understanding around:

  • recognising what they are feeling
  • how this might impact their own attitudes and behaviours
  • how to recognise emotions in others
  • knowing who to turn to for further support if they need to

During the workshops, students will undertake tasks in small groups as well as engage in whole group discussion. Sessions will be delivered by experienced trainers from Lincolnshire Police youth engagement coordinators team in an age appropriate, fair and inclusive manner.

Availability

This workshop is available to all year 5 and 6 students across Lincolnshire.

Sessions have been created to cover some or all of the following areas within the PSHE framework:

H17. to recognise that feelings can change over time and range in intensity.

H18. about everyday things that affect feelings and the importance of expressing feelings.

H19. a varied vocabulary to use when talking about feelings; about how to express feelings in different ways.

H20. strategies to respond to feelings, including intense or conflicting feelings; how to manage and respond to feelings appropriately and proportionately in different situations.
