I'm getting in touch to find out if it is possible to get the following information below please:

1) How many fires caused by lithium batteries on E-bikes or E-Scooters has your fire brigade been called to?

2) How many people have been injured at a fire caused by lithium batteries on E-bikes or E-Scooters.

3) How many accidental deaths have been caused by fires caused by lithium batteries attended to by your fire brigade?

Are you able to provide the information above between the years 2020 and 2024 please via email.

Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

 

1) How many fires caused by lithium batteries on E-bikes or E-Scooters has your fire brigade been called to?

2020 – Zero recorded fires.

2021 - 1 fire related to the overcharging of battery on E-bike.

2022 – 1 fire related to a faulty E-bike battery pack.

2023 – 1 fire related to a lithium battery on an E-scooter 2024 (to 2nd April) - Zero recorded fires.

 

2) How many people have been injured at a fire caused by lithium batteries on E-bikes or E-Scooters.

2020 – Zero recorded fires so therefore no injuries.

2021 – No injuries recorded.

2022 – One injury recorded.

2023 – No injuries recorded.

2024 (to 2nd April) – Zero recorded fires so therefore no injuries.

 

3) How many accidental deaths have been caused by fires caused by lithium batteries attended to by your fire brigade?

2020 - Zero recorded fires so therefore no deaths.

2021 – No deaths recorded.

2022 - No deaths recorded.

2023 - No deaths recorded.

2024 (to 2nd April) - Zero recorded fires so therefore no deaths.
