The Local Road Network - Find a freedom of information request

Request

The National Highways definition of the Local Road Network is that portion of the Road Network for which a Local Government is responsible, and is eligible for funding from the State Government to operate and maintain.

With this in mind, for the months of January through to December 2023 and - if available - for the first 3 months of 2024, please disclose:

1. The total amount of money spent by your council on road maintenance, relating directly to pothole reports and repairs across your Local Road Network.

Decision

Lincolnshire County Council does not make a specific allocation for potholes repairs and these form part of the reactive service budget, alongside any other maintenance schemes which form long lasting repairs, including potholes.

Our delivery model means that gangs carry out the full range of reactive repairs including potholes but also many other tasks and so assigning costs directly to potholes in not possible within our current financial and operational systems.
