Big Cook, Little Cook 0 to 5 years

Children and parents will work together to prepare nutritious food. There will be lots of chopping, mixing, stirring, measuring and following a recipe. To book, please email skegnesscc@lincolnshire.gov.uk.

The Early Days

A programme to support families and their new babies in a relaxed and friendly environment. Meet other new parents, take part in activities such as tummy time, singing and sharing books. An ideal session for your first visit into a children’s centre.

Potter and Play under 2s

An opportunity for babies and children to pop in with their parents and carers to use the resources in the early years room in the centre. All we ask is that families clean and tidy the resources after use and the space is a safe and happy environment for all to enjoy.

Tuesdays

Stay and Play under 1s

Sessions will offer activities to encourage babies to grow and learn through treasure baskets, messy play, singing and sharing stories.

Top Tips for Babies 3 to 4 months - first Tuesday of the month

This session shares top tips from introducing solids, oral health, accident prevention and age-appropriate development.  It’s a great opportunity to meet new families and find out what local services are available for your family.

Breast start from pregnancy and breastfeeding

Come and join us in a relaxed, friendly environment, chat and meet other breastfeeding mums and get some support and advice. A member of the health visiting team supports the group.

Wednesdays

Time to Play 

Early Support and Learning Provision, providing opportunities for children with disabilities or complex medical needs to learn and explore through play independently, whilst providing a short break for their parent and carer. Learning Together Babies under 1s

A programme of sessions featuring a talk time to show how the little things a parent does make a difference to their baby’s learning, together with a range of activities such as treasure baskets, messy play, singing songs and sharing books.

A relaxed family session for parents and their 0 to 5 years. Run by volunteers who are parents themselves.  Term-time only.

Making it Real 0 to 5 years - 28 June only

During these sessions we will be sharing ideas that you can repeat at home to support your child's development. Fun activities that you and your child can enjoy that will prepare them for the exciting journey to being ready for school. These activities will include mark making fun, making the most of stories and rhymes, exploring environmental print and oral language.

Drop into any children’s centre to access the range of borrow bags.  These include sensory bags, stories bags, treasure baskets and much more.


Free online sessions for parents and carer

Connect with other parents and carers via Zoom and learn about topics relevant to families and children aged 0 to 5. Share ideas in how to support children’s early education and each other. Visit the Family Corner website.

The courses provide support through all stages of bringing up children, from pregnancy and birth to caring for toddlers up to teenagers.
