Maintained Nursery Schools
1. How many maintained nursery schools (MNS) do you currently have open?
2. Do you currently have consultations open discussing the possibility of closure of any of these settings?
3. Do you have plans to close any of the MNS in your LAs?
4. How many surplus places did your maintained nursery schools have in the following years: 2021/2022, 2022/2023 and projected figures for 2023/2024.
5. How many school-led nurseries do you have? By school-led, I mean those run by primary schools rather than independent nursery schools that operate on the site of a primary school.

1. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has five maintained nursery schools.
2. LCC does not have any open consultations with any of these settings around closure.
3. The Local Authority does not have any plans to close any of the five Maintained Nursery Schools.
4. Predicted 2023-2024 – 268 surplus places across the 5 MNS (this represents 40%)
2022-2023 - 267 surplus places (40%)
2021-2022 - 267 surplus places (40%)
While the number of children attending in 2021-22 and 2022-23 was the same, the distribution between nurseries differed. The figures quoted in both cases tie to the Summer census, taken in May of each year.
5. 44 local authority school-led provision and 37 Academy-run.
