An opportunity for babies and children to pop in with their parents and carers to use the resources in the early years room in the centre. All we ask is that families clean and tidy the resources after use and the space is a safe and happy environment for all to enjoy.

Tuesdays

Incredible Years Babies - starts 7 January 2025

This parenting programme covers the child’s first 12 months of life. It is an evidence based programme which focuses on strengthening parenting skills and building a positive relationship with your baby. 
It is recommended to gain the most from the course content that you sign up when your child is aged between 0 to 6 months old.This course will be up to 10 weeks, depending on the needs of the group.  To book onto this course email skegnesscc@lincolshire.gov.uk

Sessions will offer activities to encourage babies to grow and learn through treasure baskets, messy play, singing and sharing stories.

Top Tips for Babies 3 to 4 months - first Tuesday of the month

This session shares top tips from introducing solids, oral health, accident prevention and age-appropriate development.  It’s a great opportunity to meet new families and find out what local services are available for your family.

Breast start from pregnancy and breastfeeding

Come and join us in a relaxed, friendly environment, chat and meet other breastfeeding mums and get some support and advice. A member of the health visiting team supports the group.

Paediatric First Aid Course - 15 January only

This course is ideal for anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, parents to be, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills. You will learn the roles and responsibilities of the emergency paediatric first aider and will be equipped with the skills needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, such as performing CPR and controlling external bleeding. Having a good understanding of emergency paediatric first aid is incredibly important for the safety of children and your own peace of mind. A programme of sessions featuring a talk time to show how the little things a parent does make a difference to their baby’s learning, together with a range of activities such as treasure baskets, messy play, singing songs and sharing books.

Baby Massage - starts 8 January for five weeks

This five-week course offers a chance for you and your baby to spend precious time bonding through massage whilst meeting other parents with babies to form friendships .

A sensory play session encouraging children to explore a range of messy play activities such as water, sand, crafts, gloop and play dough.

Portage Stepping Stones -  invite only

An invitation only targeted small group, for SEN pre school children and their parents or carers, led by Portage Practitioners and supported by Early Years and Family Educators.  Weekly sessions run over eight weeks focussing on specific areas of development .

Drop into any children’s centre to access the range of borrow bags.  These include sensory bags, stories bags, treasure baskets and much more.


Free online sessions for parents and carer
