Decision

I can confirm that some of the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

All of the information below is estimated.

1. The cost for all children from home to school pre 16 for the financial year 2022/23 was £40,973,394.72 - The number of children carried over this period covers 2 school years and due to the amount of changes made daily across school transport the system used cannot report on this figure.

The amount of children carried has therefore been based on an average day, date chosen 19th January 2023 - 16671 children pre 16 were on home to school transport provided via LCC. The cost for all children from home to school and college post 16 for financial year 2022/23 was £3,526,294.81 – The number of children carried again based on 19th January 2023 post 16 was 2855.

4. LCC does not differentiate between children under 8 and over 8 within Lincolnshire as we allow the walking distance of 2 miles for all children of Primary School age as a discretionary element of our school and college transport policy.

5. The highest daily cost of home to school for an individual in the financial year 2022/23 was £650.
