Workshops provide hands on information for year 6 children covering protection, detection and escape. The skills and knowledge gained throughout this program can be used by the children throughout their lives.
- Outcomes

Students who undertake this programme will work together to achieve:
- fire safety prevention - about how to keep safe at home (including around electrical appliances) and fire safety (for example, not playing with matches and lighters)
- fire safety escape planning and how to raise the alarm - how to get help in an emergency (how to dial 999 and what to say)
- fire service roles and responsibilties - about the people whose job it is to help keep us safe
- fire safety - for keeping safe in the local environment or unfamiliar places and firework safety; safe use of digital devices when out and about
- fire safety confidence with the ability to pass on the safety measures at home
Schools who offer this programme will demonstrate:
- a commitment to pupils' learning and development in and outside lessons
- encouraging pupils' access to new information to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills, both in lessons and in extra-curricular activities

The services are available during term-time and school holidays. Sessions are provided face-to-face by a Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue advocate. Responses are provided within five working days.
