Grantham A&E - Find a freedom of information request

As a local District Councillor and Hospital campaigner I am trying to establish:-

1. The impact of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust decision to close Grantham A&E at night, complete shutdown of Grantham Hospital during Covid19 and the subsequent diversion by East Midlands Ambulances from Grantham A&E to Lincoln,

Boston Pilgrim and Nottingham & Peterborough & Grimsby Hospitals.

Please provide any appropriate data that you have from the year predating the Night Closure August 2016 ie from August 2015 for residents/visitors to the Grantham Hospital catchment area-

A. No. Deaths at home

Broken down by 

causes where known

B. No. Deaths in ambulances

Broken down by causes

causes where known

C. No. Deaths in other means of transport eg private car

Broken down by causes

causes where known

D. No. Deaths in nhs hospitals within 24hrs of arrival 

Broken down by causes

causes where known

2. I am also keen to understand how well Grantham catchment dementia patients are being cared for since the closure by ulht of the Grantham Hospital Manthorpe dementia ward.

There is a proposal to extend the closure for a further year. 

Please provide the following:

Since April 2021 the number of patients with dementia who have died in the Grantham area where dementia was not the cause of death:

A. In hospital

B. At home

C. In a care home

If so what were the causes of death?

As above where dementia was the cause of death?

If it is possible to break down figures by month this would be very helpful. 

Only deaths which occur within Lincolnshire which require coronial involvement are reported to the Lincolnshire HM Coroner.

Nottingham, Grimsby and Peterborough hospitals fall outside of the Lincolnshire Coronial jurisdiction.

Lincolnshire HM Coroner is only involved in deaths which are reported.
