Fires or incidents caused by knock off phone chargers - Find a freedom of information request

1. Please could you tell me how many house fires or incidents have been caused by knock off phone chargers?

1. This request does not confirm a date range in which to focus the reply upon. Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have answered this requested based on incidents occurring between 01 January 2019 and 30 June 2023.

The national Incident Recording System does not have a specific category for a mobile phone charger being the source of ignition. This search has focussed on the generic 'Battery charger' and a further free text search has been utilised to identify potential mobile phone chargers. To confirm Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue do not have the intelligence to confirm whether the type of charger was 'knock off'.

There have been four recorded fires in this date range; one being an Apple phone charger, one being a Belkin wireless charger, two unknown chargers with one of those being an aftermarket/unbranded type.
