Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

1. Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme for school-aged children and young people eligible for benefits-related free school meals. https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/school-pupilsupport/holiday-activities-food-programme As at 20th June 2023, 133 clubs are delivering HAF across the county for Summer 2023.

2. Budget is as per the Grant Funding Determination Letter from the Department for Education, which for Lincolnshire is £2,696,260.

3. As per the nationally available data published by the Department for Education, last updated 13th June 2023, there are c. 27,000 children and young people in Lincolnshire known to be eligible for free school meals.

4. The funding that the Department for Education provides is not sufficient to fund provision for every eligible child. Lincolnshire allocates £5 per child per hour per day, with an uplift of an additional £5 per hour per day for eligible children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities or additional needs.

In addition, £3.50 per child per day is allocated for a healthy meal (preferably hot) plus £1 per child per day for healthy snacks where a club is more than 4 hours in length per day.

5. School aged children from Reception Year to Year 11 who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals. In addition, as per the Grant Funding Determination Letter, 15% of the funding can be made available to children and young people who are not in receipt of free school meals, but who are children in need, at risk or vulnerable and who the local authority believe could benefit from the provision.
