- Outcomes
-
'The Adventures of Smartie the Penguin’ were developed by Childnet to educate 3 to 7-year-olds on how to stay safe on the internet. There are two stories (A and B) for each age group (early years foundation stage, year 1 and year 2). We have created videos telling both story A and story B.
Story A covers the topics:
- pop-ups and in-app purchasing
- inappropriate websites (for older children)
- cyberbullying
Story B covers the topics:
- upsetting images
- unreliable information
- communicating with strangers online
- Service Description
-
Our stay safe officer, Emma, tells the story of Smartie the Penguin in YouTube videos:
Throughout the videos there are pause points for children to discuss about what they think Smartie the Penguin should do next to stay safe online.
PowerPoint presentations for all these stories can be accessed on the Childnet website (opens in new tab), as well as Smartie the Penguin colouring pages.
