Regarding 'pairs' of black cables across many roads in and around Lincoln recently.

1. There were 156 Automatic Traffic Count (ATC) sites, of which 153 used pairs of tubes (3 others were by radar).
2. Nationwide Data Collection (NDC) have undertaken the surveys, commissioned by WSP on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.
3. The surveys collect observed traffic flow data across a two-week period which will be used to support the development of a new highway traffic model of the Greater Lincoln area.
4. The total cost of the ATCs is £35,400.
