Semi-independent living - Find a freedom of information request

Request

I would like to know the average cost of a child's placement commissioned by children's services when placing within supported accommodation (also known as semi-independent living).

Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. Lincolnshire County Council commission various Supported Accommodation placements, according to the needs of the individual young people:

• Supported Accommodation contract with one Provider to deliver 72 units of accommodation across Lincolnshire with flexible support for young people, as they require it. The average cost for these placements is £430 per week.

• Supported Accommodation provision for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking (UASC) young people aged 16-17 commissioned from a small number of approved Providers. The average cost for these placements is £349 per week (plus £60 per week living allowance).

• Intense Needs Supported Accommodation; spot purchased for a small number of very complex young people (where they cannot live in shared accommodation) at a cost that is specific to each young person on a case by case basis. The average cost for these placements as at 1st May 2023 is £2,383 per week.
