Planning application appeals - Find a freedom of information request

1) I would like to request information on the number of planning applications that went to appeal due to the local councillors not supporting the planning officers' decision. Specifically, I would like to know:

a) How many planning applications went to appeal due to the local councillors not supporting the planning officers' decision in the last 3 financial years.

b) Of those appeals, how many were upheld by the Planning Inspectorate?

c) How much did these appeals cost the local government in total?

 

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

a) Since April 2021/22, four applications have been refused by the Planning & Regulation Committee against the Officers recommendation. See attached excel sheet

b) 1 appeal has been determined in the period. Decisions are awaited on the other 3.

c) Costs were awarded against the Council in connection with the allowed appeal. The costs paid amounted to £2,052. We do not record officer time/costs spent on defending the appeal
