Children missing from care - Find a freedom of information request

Request

Between January and November 2018 and then November 2018 and November 2022:

 

a. How many children (under 18) in the council's care were identified as being the victim of exploitation including gang involvement, involvement in criminal activity/child criminal exploitation,

trafficking, radicalisation, child sexual exploitation or risk of other exploitation.

 

Of those, how many were:

  • Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC)
  • Refugees from countries such as Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine (SAU)
  • Citizens (non-UASC or SAU).

 

b. How many individual incidents of these children going missing from care were recorded each year?

c. How many times were there incidents where the child was recorded as missing for over a week and what were the shortest and longest durations until they were returned?
